Ozzfest es un festival anual de rock en general realizado en los Estados Unidos (y en algunas ocasiones, en Europa) contando con la participación de bandas de heavy metal, hardcore punk, y hard rock, especialmente de nu metal, como Disturbed, Slipknot, Linkin Park, Mudvayne, y Soulfly, acompañados en algunos casos por bandas de Metal primitivo Black Sabbath, Metallica, Judas Priest, y Megadeth. Fue precisamente en el marco del Ozzfest donde se empezó a gestar la reunión de los integrantes originales de Black Sabbath (Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler y Bill Ward), hasta su definitiva reunión meses después. Su fundadora fue Sharon Osbourne, la esposa del mencionado cantante británico Ozzy Osbourne, quienes se encargan también de su organización, junto a Jack, hijo de la pareja.

El festival fue creado en 1996, cuando los organizadores de otro festival, el Lollapalooza le negaron la participación a Ozzy Osbourne en dicho tour. El festival fue bien recibido, por lo que se volvió anual.

En 1998, Ozzfest se aventuró fuera de los Estados Unidos por primera vez hacia el Reino Unido, repitiendo en 2001 y 2002, para el Ozzfest 2010 tendría tres escenarios, uno en Israel, el otro en el Reino Unido y el ultimo en Estados Unidos, y para el 2013 el Ozzfest se realizaría en Japón.

El festival se extendió luego hasta 2008. Para 2009 Ozzy Osbourne anuncia que no se realizará el festival, por motivo de la preparación de su nuevo disco. Y para el 2011 y el 2012 no realizaría el festival para poder preparar el nuevo disco con Black Sabbath.
