Alfred Thomas Highmore, conocido como Freddie Highmore, es un actor inglés nacido el 14 de febrero de 1992 en Londres. Es conocido por sus papeles de Peter en Finding Neverland, Charlie Bucket en Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Evan Taylor/August Rush en August Rush y los gemelos Jared y Simon Grace en Las crónicas de Spiderwick.

Freddie comenzó a actuar en pequeños papeles a la edad de 7 años. En dos películas trabajó con miembros de su familia. Su hermano Bertie y Mica interpretó a su hermano en la película Women Talking Dirty, y su padre interpretó a su padre en la película Jack and the Beanstalk: The Real Story. En 2004, tuvo un avance muy importante por su criticada y aclamada actuación como Peter Llewelyn Davies en Finding Neverland. En 2005 interpretó a Charlie Bucket en Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (adaptación del libro de Roald Dahl). Highmore fue recomendado para ese rol por Johnny Depp, quién protagonizó Finding Neverland y quedó impresionado por la actuación del joven actor. La siguiente aparición de Highmore fue en August Rush junto a Keri Russell, Jonathan Rhys Meyers y Robin Williams. La historia es un musical sobre Evan Taylor (que después es cambiado a August Rush) y su aventura para encontrar a sus padres que se separaron el día de su concepción. Highmore protagonizó Las crónicas de Spiderwick con Mary-Louise Parker. Freddie interpreta a dos mellizos americanos, Simon y Jared Grace, Sarah Bolger a su hermana, y Mallory Grace (Mary-Louise Parker) a la madre de éstos. Prestó su voz para la película Arthur y los Minimoys, de Luc Besson. También lo hizo para La Brújula Dorada y las dos secuelas de Arthur y los Minimoys. Highmore también prestó su voz en el film Astro Boy. Cuando trabajó en August Rush tenia 15 años, teniendo el personaje 10 años.
