Detected vast VANDALISM on es.wiki

Hello Wikipedians, in the second half of January an anonymous user vandalised a large number of articles treating topics like British geography, television game shows and others. He added inexistant versions of ¿Quién quiere ser millonario? (here, too), invented new tv channels etc. He rewrote the history of Hampshire (UK) and invented what he calls the provincia la Meridian. In many articles he added the word "Unilever", "Procted & Gamble", "Yasmin Brinklow", or simply "Brinklow". I have no idea if this is any inside joke from Spanish/Latin tv or if he made up everything on his own, but it does great harm to the reputation of es.wiki. El pasado 7 de febrero, la Fundación Wikimedia reconoció oficialmente a Wikimedia España como capítulo oficial de la Fundación. Foundation Images Policy

I am Yosri from Malay Wikipedia. Recently I was informed by certain parties that MS Wiki need to delete any images tagged as Non-Commercial under Foundation Licensing policy. After I have done some studies, I realised that Wikipedia Foundations is moving towards allowing commercialises all images, as such they are acting on behalf of commercial company to require all images loaded with tagging Non-Commercial in all Wiki Project to be removed, including those loaded in local Wiki. You are only allowed to licenses your images under "free content", which specifically allows commercial reuse, example GDLF 1.2. Certain images is exempted under a very narrow EDP ("exemption doctrine policy") definition. If you all already aware about this, please ignore this comment. Just a short comment. the name of the article Islas BES was (correctly) changed to Caribe Neerlandés. However, that was done by cut and paste moves, so the history is still at Islas BES. He wrote lots of articles, mainly on Switzerland-related topics, in some cases copying them from books and other sources. We found an article at least, Antonio Lombardo, which content was traslated in Spanish. I'm here to alert you.

(No estoy bromeando, es increíble pero verdadero...)
Además, esta vez la aprobación podría más probablemente ser forzada por el gobierno llamado técnico (encabezado por el Sr. Monti), y todos los partidos italianos más grandes JUNTOS (Berlusconianos manos en las manos con el ex-comunistas - ambos habían tratado por separado para hacer cumplir tal acto antes) están trabajando para fortalecer el acto. Request help with "John Hopkins University press" (incorrect spelling) (over 1000 wrong)

There are over 1000 pages on the Spanish Language Wikipedia where (mostly in references) where a book published by "Johns Hopkins University press" is listed as being published by "John Hopkins University press" (missing the s in Johns). I know on the English Language Wikipedia that bots are not to be used for spelling, I don't know if that is true here. Sevilla FC Article

Firstly, apologies for the English, I sadly have no Spanish language skills.

I've been contacted over twitter by a user of the Spanish wiki to ask if I could look into an issue with the Sevilla FC article here. Basically the information on the English language wiki is correct as to when the club was founded (and is cited to historical sources). However on the Spanish language version, a later date is given and cited to parts of the modern website to support this. However the English language version also uses parts of that official website with the older date too backed up by historical news reports.

Is anyone able to look it this, or potentially be someone that I can put the Spanish wiki user in touch with so he can raise his concerns directly? Thanks Miyagawa (discusión) 15:46 6 mar 2015 (UTC)

Coin form

Hello! Is there a spanish word (or a construct) describing generically "something with the form of a coin"? In italian for that we use the word monetiforme (that means litterally "with the form of a coin"), but the same word in spanish (monetiforme) is not the same as italian: it's a false-friend, meaning "our" gettone. WikiScienceCompetition 2017

Hi! Wiki Science Competition has started, sitenotices have appeared for sure in Spain, Austria, USA, Russian Federation and Ukraine, and Italy will be join very soon with a massive national campaign.

As a member of the academic committee I did my best to reduce the gap between countries both in the composition of the juries and now in the outreach. I did inform many platforms (enwiki, eswiki, frwiki) during the preparation of the event, now I am informing all national institutions, associations and federations of science and technology I can contact, especially those located in countries without national juries (so, also in Argentina or Mexico) and I am posting notes on LinkedIn groups everyday... and so on. That's why I am here.

We started to prepare banners for many countries but on meta they say it is not wise to use them all, so if you want to use the style and do one here on your wiki for few days, just inform us.

I hope we can create a "leftover" international countries for minor states, but there are in any case big countries without national juries that I would like to inform, because they will have access to a final selection

Otherwise, if you have social media and you want to inform your friends and colleagues, the twitter hashtags are #WSC2017, #WikiScience2017, #WikiScience

besides Chile and Brazil, South America is underperforming. I don't know if I have time to send messages to all Universities in the area. I did something but not enough. I think the page Sello de calidad contains an error: it looks in this page the terms "label" (sello) and "mark" (etiqueta) are considered synonyms, but they are not.
In particular, an identification label contains different conformity marks and also other information about the particular product (e.g.: origin, manufacturer's name, etc.). While the subjects of the articles he has created are (mostly) notable, the mistake of creating articles in languages he does not understand has led to extremely bad quality, probably at the level of unintelligibility. Unless local editors are willing to start a clean-up effort, I suggest that his contributions be deleted. Hola Amigos. Can anyone help me some to find a town in Al-Ándalus? I just know its Arabic form, "Jilyanah, Jelyana, Gilyana, Jalyana" etc, somewhere near Guadix of Granada. @Olea: But I guess because the person left Al-Ándalus when was young, so not studied by Andalusian historians. Umar Farrukh (Q6405850), as biographer, not mentioned his birthplace in modern Spain too, all he wrote is "Jilyana somewhere near Guadix (Wadi al-Ash) of Granada (Gharnatah)". A user from PtWiki said maybe its Jayena. And maybe, its abandoned or destroyed. Please edit Abd al-Mun'im al-Jilyani (Q107343489) if anything you find. The message= parameter should be filled by the pagename of a MediaWiki: page instead of something like "Creación reiterada de bulos".
