La novena temporada de The Voice comenzó a ser emitida el 21 de septiembre de 2015, por NBC.[1] Adam Levine, Pharrell Williams y Blake Shelton regresaron como entrenadores. Gwen Stefani regresa después de una temporada de ausencia.

Career[editar]
The Voice (2015)[editar]
At the age of 16, Emily Ann Roberts auditioned for the ninth season of The Voice singing Lee Ann Womack's "I Hope You Dance". Two of the four coaches, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, turned their chairs for her. Roberts chose to be part of Team Blake.
In the Battles, Roberts competed against Morgan Frazier as the two sang "I'm That Kind of Girl" by Patty Loveless. Shelton deemed Roberts the winner and advanced her to the Knockout rounds. In the Knockouts, Roberts defeated fellow team member Nadjah Nicole with her rendition of "Cowboy Take Me Away" by The Chicks, and advanced to the Playoffs.
During the Playoffs, Roberts sang "In the Garden" by C. Austin Miles, but was not chosen by the public, who could only save two artists from Shelton's team. Shelton, who could save one of his three remaining artists, chose her. Roberts continued advancing throughout the Live Shows. Her performances included covers of "Blame It on Your Heart" by Patty Loveless in the Top 12 week, "Why Not Me" by The Judds in the Top 11 week, "She's Got You" by Patsy Cline in the Top 10 week, and "9 to 5" by Dolly Parton in the Semi-Finals week. Her renditions of the songs, "Blame It on Your Heart", "Why Not Me", and "She's Got You" charted on the Billboard magazine chart, where they placed No. 43, 33, and 21 respectively on the Hot Country Songs chart.[3] Her performance of "In the Garden", also placed No. 14 on the Hot Christian Songs chart.[4]
During the Live Finale on December 14, 2015, Roberts performed "Blue Christmas" by Elvis Presley as her Christmas Song, and Cam's "Burning House" as her Solo Song. She also joined her coach, Shelton, in a duet as they sang Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers's "Islands in the Stream". Her solo performance of "Burning House", and her duet of "Islands in the Stream" reached the top 10 on the iTunes chart. On December 15, 2015, Roberts was declared the runner-up behind winner Jordan Smith from Team Adam.

After The Voice[editar]
After the show she returned to school for the rest of her junior year. She took online night classes and graduated in May 2016, and started working full-time in Nashville in June. An opportunity opened in 2017 to be on a gospel tour called “The Gospel Through Girls & Guitars” which led to Emily Ann Roberts' first gospel album titled “Bigger Than Me” in August 2017.[5] She continued to play and sell out all her live shows ending 2017 very strong. In 2018 Starstruck Records signed her and in September "Stuck On Me + You" was released as her first country music single.[6] A second single, "I Got Forever," was released the following month.[7] November saw the release of a third single "Your Christmas Eve".[8] A full album is expected for a 2019 release. April saw a fifth single "Someday Dream" released.[9] In May The Voice asked her back to perform her new single on the show.[10][11]
