Ubisoft Reflections, anteriormente Reflections Interactive Limited,[1] es una compañía británica desarrolladora de videojuegos fundada en 1984, subsidiaria de Ubisoft. Se encuentra ubicada en la ciudad de Newcastle, Inglaterra. Es responsable del desarrollo de los títulos de la serie Driver, así como de Far Cry y Watch Dogs.
Historia
Martin Edmonson comenzó desarrollando videojuegos para el BBC Micro junto con Nicholas Chamberlain en 1984. Su primer juego fue un clon de Paperboy llamado Paper-Round, el cual tomó dos años de desarrollo pero a final de cuentas nunca fue lanzado al mercado. Posteriormente empezaron el desarrollo de Ravenskull, título que se convertiría en su primer videojuego publicado, lanzándolo en 1986.[2]
El nombre de Reflections fue usado por primera vez en Shadow of the Beast, publicado en 1989 por Psygnosis para el sistema Commodore Amiga. El logotipo original fue diseñado como complemento del buhó del logotipo de Psygnosis. El logo actual es una letra "R" rotada y reflejada, haciendo referencia al significado del nombre en español, Reflections (en español: Reflejos).
En agosto de 2006, Atari anunció que había vendido el estudio Reflections Interactive Limited a Ubisoft en una transacción de 24 millones de dólares, transfiriendo a todo el personal, así como la mayor parte de los bienes, incluyendo los derechos de tecnología y de propiedad intelectual de la serie Driver. Con esto, Reflections Interactive Limited fue renombrada a Ubisoft Entertainment Limited comercializando como Ubisoft Reflections.[3]
