Steve Lukather

Steve "Luke" Lukather Considerado como el guitarrista más versátil del mundo; Luke es un músico de sesión, líder y guitarrista de Toto; se le conoce por las colaboraciones en diversos discos, siendo uno de lo principales músicos de sesión en la actualidad. Luke es arreglista, productor y compositor, gran amigo de Eddie Van Halen y Steve Vai; Luke con Eddie eran vecinos y compartieron notables momentos de su niñez.

Biografía

Steve Lukather tocando un solo de guitarra utilizando la técnica del tapping.

Nace el 21 de octubre de 1957 en San Fernando Valley, California. Se ganó la fama a pulso (junto a su compañero de escuela Michael Landau) siendo considerado uno de los mejores músicos de estudio de los 70 y los 80.

Está influenciado principalmente por los pioneros del blues-rock como Jimi Hendrix o Jimmy Page, así como por grandes guitarristas del jazz como Larry Carlton o del jazz-fusion como Al Di Meola. Su estilo es considerado como único por su mezcla entre velocidad, melodía y líneas de blues, a consecuencia de esto el año 2008 fue elegido como el mejor guitarrista de la historia del Rock, en la encuesta realizada por una página web Vote number 1.

Su carrera en Toto comienza en 1978, graba 19 discos (3 en vivo) siendo los mas importantes Toto I, Toto IV y The Seventh One. Los hits mas famosos que grabó con Toto son:

En la actualidad la banda Toto se ha separado. Segun un comunicado que se encuentra en su pagina web Steve anuncia su partida del grupo y la disolucion de la banda.

Actualmente Lukather está de gira promocionando su último disco solista titulado Ever Changing Times, Y grabará un DVD de esta gira el 21 de Octubre del 2009 en Los Angeles California.
