Los salamándridos (Salamandridae) son un clado de anfibios caudados, también conocidos como salamandras o tritones. Se distribuyen por todo el hemisferio norte a lo largo de Europa, Asia, África del Norte y Norteamérica.[1][2] Presentan cuatro extremidades con cinco dedos en las posteriores y cuatro en las anteriores, una cola en cada etapa de su desarrollo y por lo general patrones cromáticos llamativos en la piel como medio de disuasión ante potenciales depredadores (coloración aposemática).[2]
