Iwrestledabearonce (o simplemente IWABO) es una banda de metal experimental, formada en el 2007, en Shreveport, Louisiana. Su nombre nació de un comentario de Gary Busey en Comedy Central.[1]​

Historia

Formación, primer EP e It's All Happening (2007-2010)

La banda lanzó su primer EP homónimo en diciembre del 2007 con Tragic Hero Records.[2]​ Firmando con Century Media, la banda lanzó su primer álbum: It's All Happening, en junio del 2009, posicionándose en el puesto #1 en el chart US Heat.[3]​

Ruining It for Everybody y salida de Krysta (2011-2012)

Ruining It for Everybody fue lanzado en julio del 2011. En el Vans Warped Tour del 2012, la vocalista Krysta Cameron dejó la banda de manera temporal e indefinida debido a que estaba embarazada, siendo reemplazada por Courtney LaPlante.

Late for Nothing (2013-presente)

En enero del 2013 la banda comenzó a componer música para su nuevo material. El 25 de mayo a través de su página de Facebook anunciaron que habían terminado de grabar, posterior mente en junio anunciaron que el nuevo álbum llevaría por título Late for Nothing y sería lanzado el 6 de agosto del 2013. El 11 de junio lanzaron Thunder Chunky como sencillo promocional. El 25 de junio su discografía Century Media Records anunció Firebees como segundo sencillo.

Estilo musical

El estilo de la banda es considerado como metalcore,[4]​ [5]​ avant-garde metal[6]​ y grindcore,[7]​ [8]​[9]​ con influencias de jazz,[10]​[9]​[11]​ metal progresivo,[8]​[11]​ música electrónica,[12]​[9]​ synthpop,[10]​ y música hillbilly.[12]​ La experimentación de la banda es notable,[13]​[14]​ además de sus influencias de The Dillinger Escape Plan, Radiohead y Björk, y la capacidad vocal de Cameron, inspirada por Björk.[9]​
