Protomyctophum subparallelum^[1] es un pez linterna de la familia Myctophidae. Mide aproximadamente 3,6 centímetros. Es una especie mesopelágica.^[2]

Protomyctophum subparallelum se encuentra en todos los océanos y es una especia marina de aguas profundas.
