La discografía Van Morrison, músico y compositor norirlandés, consta de 42 álbumes de estudio, cinco álbumes en directo, siete recopilatorios y más de sesenta sencillos. Tras la disolución de su primera banda, Them, Morrison emprendió una carrera en solitario con la publicación de Blowin' Your Mind! (1967) con Bang Records, que incluyó el sencillo «Brown Eyed Girl». Un año después, firmó un contrato con Warner Bros. Records, con quien publicó trabajos como Astral Weeks (1968) y Moondance (1970), destacados por la prensa musical como dos de los mejores discos del siglo XX.[1][2][3]
Desde entonces, Morrison ha consolidado una prolífica carrera musical que abarca más de cuatro décadas y una treintena de álbumes en los que fusiona géneros como el blues, el R&B y el soul y se ha convertido en uno de los artistas más influyentes de la música contemporánea.[4] Además de su dilatada carrera en solitario, ha publicado trabajos con colaboradores como Mose Allison, Georgie Fame y The Chieftains, entre otros.[5][6]
Su trabajo ha recibido gran reconocimiento de la industria musical, con seis premios Grammy y un premio Brit, así como por su inclusión en el Salón de la Fama del Rock and Roll en 1993, en el Salón de la Fama Musical de Irlanda en 1999 y en el Salón de la Fama de los Compositores en 2003. También recibió la Orden del Imperio Británico y la Orden de las Artes y las Letras, ambos en 1996, así como varios doctorados honoris causa por la Universidad del Úlster (1992) y la Universidad Queen’s de Belfast (2001).
