Stardust: The Great American Songbook 3 es un álbum de estudio del cantante británico Rod Stewart, lanzado el 12 de octubre de 2004 por el sello J Records.[1]​ Además es el tercer volumen de The Great American Songbook. La producción quedó a cargo de Clive Davis, Richard Perry, Steve Tyrell y Lauren Wild, mientras que Jeri Heiden y John Heiden se encargaron de la dirección artística. Se posicionó mejor que sus dos discos anteriores, It Had to Be You: the Great American Songbook (2002) y As Time Goes By: The Great American Songbook, Volume II (2003), al alcanzar el primer lugar en las listas Billboard 200, Top Canadian Albums y Top Internet Albums. Los temas «Blue Moon», «Baby, It's Cold Outside» y «What A Wonderful World» también entraron en el conteo Adult Contemporary, de las cuales el segundo obtuvo el puesto dos.[3]​ Recibió una recepción generalmente negativa por parte de los sitios Allmusic, Rolling Stone y The Village Voice.[1]​[2]​[4]​

Recepción crítica

Stephen Thomas Erlewine de Allmusic le dio dos estrellas y media de cinco, y opinó: «[Stewart] suena un poco más agradable [...] pero todavía The Great American Songbook es una mala idea».[1]​ La revista estadounidense Rolling Stone simplemente le dio una estrella y media de cinco.[2]​ Robert Christgau, de The Village Voice, dijo que «no hay versiones definitivas».[4]​
