Petrophile, es un género de arbustos perennifolios perteneciente a la familia Proteaceae. Es endémico de Australia y por lo general tienen follaje espinoso, dividido y producen flores de color rosa, amarillo o crema seguido de frutos grises y cónicos.[1][2]
Taxonomía
Petrophile fue descrito por Robert Brown y publicado en On the cultivation of the plants belonging to the natural order of Proteeae 92. 1809.[3] La especie tipo es: Petrophile fucifolia Knight.

Distribuciónn
Se distribuyen predominantemente por Australia Occidental, aunque varias especies se encuentran en otros estados, incluidos South Australia, New South Wales y Queensland.[5]
Cultivation
Plants in this genus, particularly those from Western Australia, require a freely draining soil . They tolerate periods of dryness and mild frosts and will grow well in full sun or part shade. They can be propagated from cuttings taken in autumn or from seed, however the production of new plants by either method can be slow.[2][4]
