John Sykes (29 de julio de 1959 en Reading, Berkshire, Inglaterra), es un guitarrista inglés de heavy metal/hard rock que ha tocado con bandas como Streetfighter, Tygers of Pan Tang, Badlands, Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake, Blue Murder, y también ha adelantado un proyecto en solitario llamado John Sykes.
Estuvo en una agrupación llamada Badlands, con su ex-compañero en Whitesnake Neil Murray (no confundir con la banda Badlands, creada por el guitarrista Jake E. Lee y el vocalista Ray Gillen).
Sykes tocó en el álbum de 1987 Whitesnake. Éste fue el disco más exitoso de la banda, veniendo cerca de 8 millones de copias solamente en los Estados Unidos, y conteniendo los reconocidos singles "Still of the Night", "Is This Love?" y "Here I Go Again".
