Lela Viola Burton

Lela Viola Barton (1901 – 1967) fue una botánica estadounidense especializada en la germinación y almacenamiento de semillas. ​

Vida y obra

Lela Barton nació en Farmington, condado de Washington, Arkansas, el 14 de noviembre de 1901, la tercera de cinco hijos de Gaston Reuben y Mary Fannie (de soltera Miller) Barton. ​Barton trabajó en el Instituto Boyce Thompson de Investigación Vegetal en Yonkers, en la ciudad de Nueva York, especializándose en semillas. Barton murió a los 66 años en Tucson, Arizona, el 31 de julio de 1967; fue enterrada en Fairview Memorial Gardens, Fayetteville, Arkansas . Ella nunca se casó. ​
