Don Quijote

Forgive me for writing in English, but I feel my Spanish is insufficient to express the comment I would like to make (and even less sufficient to make the changes to this article that I believe should be made).

It seems to me that the second sentence in the statement "Es en esta época cuando Miguel de Cervantes, famoso escritor castellano, dice que "autores hay que dicen que la primera aventura que le avino [a don Quijote] fue la de Puerto Lápice" (Don Quijote, Primera Parte, cap. 2). No existe otra frase en la obra sobre el tema, y así nos quedamos sin saber si el personaje ficticio don Quijote visitara Puerto Lápice, ni qué tipo de aventura que tuvo allí, si es que tuvo alguna" is simply false.

Capítulo 8, right after the famous attack on the windmills: "Y, hablando en la pasada aventura, siguieron el camino del Puerto Lápice, porque allí decía don Quijote que no era posible dejar de hallarse muchas y diversas aventuras, por ser lugar muy pasajero;" Two pages further: "Tornaron a su comenzado camino del Puerto Lápice, y a obra de las tres del día le descubrieron." What follows then (and apparently at Puerto Lápice) is don Quijote's fight against the frailes de la orden de San Benito and the vizcaíno (all through Capítulo 9). (all according to the edición del IV centenario of the Real Academia Española, 2004)

Therefore, I would assume that the adventure referred to in Capítulo 2 is the attack on the brother of San Benito and the swordfight with the vizcaíno.--92.203.8.19 (discusión) 14:40 28 oct 2018 (UTC)
