a-ha es una banda noruega de synth pop, pop rock y new wave formada en Oslo, el 14 de septiembre de 1982. Gracias a su éxito y popularidad, especialmente durante los años 80, el trío se ha convertido en el acto musical noruego más importante a escala mundial.
El grupo cosechó gran éxito en la década de 1980, principalmente por su canción «Take on Me», y continuó con un éxito más discreto durante los años 1990. Tras su quinto álbum de estudio, Memorial Beach, el trío interrumpió su actividad hasta el año 2000, cuando regresaron con Minor Earth | Major Sky. Igualmente, pasaron por la década del 2000 con éxito discreto hasta 2009, cuando publicaron su último álbum de estudio, Foot of the Mountain, el álbum con mayor éxito de la década y que suponía un regreso a las raíces del grupo. Aprovechando las buenas críticas de su último trabajo, a-ha decidió que 2010 era el momento ideal para terminar como banda. Dieron su último concierto el 4 de diciembre en el Oslo Spektrum.
Con motivo del trigésimo aniversario del éxito de la banda, a-ha está de vuelta con nuevo álbum de estudio, Cast in Steel, que será lanzado el 4 de septiembre junto a una gira promocional[1][2] que pasará 27 de septiembre de 2015 por el festival Rock in Rio para un concierto especial de aniversario.[3][4][5] También, nuevas reediciones remasterizadas y expandidas serán lanzadas de sus primeros álbumes de estudio.[6]
La siguiente lista se compone del material oficial del grupo, entendiendo como tal las obras que figuran en la web oficial de a-ha y aquellas lanzadas bajo cualquier sello discográfico con derechos de distribución sobre las mismas.
Álbumes[editar]
Aunque existen numerosos lanzamientos, la discografía oficial se compone de nueve álbumes de estudio, tres recopilatorios y uno en vivo[7] grabado durante las últimas semanas del Lifelines World Tour. La cifra de álbumes de estudio vendidos supera los 35 millones de copias.[8] El 13 de julio de 2010 el sello Rhino Entertainment lanzó, tanto en formato físico como digital, dos reediciones de lujo oficiales de los primeros álbumes de a-ha: Hunting High and Low (Deluxe Edition) y Scoundrel Days (Deluxe Edition).

Bandas sonoras[editar]
En 1987 el grupo trabajó junto al compositor John Barry para realizar la banda sonora de la película The Living Daylights ("007: Alta tensión"; "Su nombre es peligro"). La canción fue el décimo sencillo del grupo y fue incluida en la banda sonora de la película. Aunque logró popularidad, la canción se mantuvo por debajo del éxito que consiguió su predecesora, "A View to a Kill" de Duran Duran (1985).
