Manfred von Ardenne (Enero 20, 1907 – Mayo 26, 1997) fue un investigador y físico alemán e inventor. Sacó aproximadamente 600 patentes en campos como la microscopía electrónica, tecnología médica, tecnología nuclear, física del plasma y tecnología de la radio y la televisión. Desde 1928 a 1945, dirigió su laboratorio de investigación privada Forschungslaboratorium für Elektronenphysik. Diez años después de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, trabajó en la Unión Soviética en el proyecto de bomba atómica soviética y fue galardonado con un premio Stalin. A su regreso a Alemania, comenzó otro laboratorio privado, el Forschungsinstitut Manfred von Ardenne.
