Mónica Kisik

" I am a biologist and recently I became a doctor in Molecular Biology. I’ve been cooking since I was 8 years old, but it has been specially the past 6 years living in Madrid where I have developed a true passion for cooking. Ever since, I have been organizing meals and dinners with friends being the main objective for me that they enjoy all the new sensations a special new ingredient or mixture can provide. Always along good company and good wine :) When I finished my phD, I decided to dedicate myself 100% to cooking. So I went to Berlin in pursue of new cultures, I learned tons about good artisan bread, which lead on to new roads and a completely new finding in my life, which, ironically in a way is science and cooking. Never, those two roads cross my mind until now, eventhough I’ve been dedicating myself to both. So now, I’m at San Sebastian in Spain, doing a Master in Cooking, Technique and Product (as you can see, I love to learn and study!) and let’s see where the road leads me then :).

2011 began with this new project where I intended to transmit my passion for cooking. It has lead me, as a peruvian and 100% lover of my country, to write and tell you many things about peruvian cuisine. However I love making breads, being creative, learning new techniques and about new cultures, so you will find recipes, food and ideas from everywhere with Monitouille’s touc.

I hope that every new recipe and adventure will allow me to reach to you and that you will be able to feel and cook with my recipes and my world of flavours. Enjoy! " ​
