Blockbuster Monster Movie (超大作怪獣映画 Chōdaisaku Kaijū Eiga?)) is an upcoming Japanese kaiju film directed and written by Takashi Yamazaki. Produced by Toho Studios Robot Communications and distributed by Toho Co., Ltd. , it is the 37th film in the Godzilla franchise, the 30th live-action Toho Godzilla film after Shin Godzilla (2016), the 33rd overall Godzilla film produced by Toho, and the fifth film in the franchise's Reiwa era.[3]​ The film is scheduled to be theatrically released in Japan on November 3, 2023 to commemorate the franchise's 69th anniversary.

Robot Communications announced the film on February 18, 2022 through a casting call on their official website.[4]​ Robot stated that the film will be directed by Takashi Yamazaki, and co-produced by them and Toho.[5]Shirogumi opened a recruiting call for VFX designers and compositors in August 2022. The recruiting will close in January 2023, unless capacity is attained prior.[6]​ Toho announced the project to be a Godzilla film on November 3, 2022, the franchise's 68th anniversary known as "Godzilla Day." Principal photography began in mid-March, 2022, taking place in Kantō and wrapped in mid-June.[4][5][9]
