Request for adding article to EN[editar]

Hi, If you are trying to create an article then here is general advice:

Before creating an article, please search Wikipedia first to make sure that an article does not already exist on the subject. Please also review a few of our relevant policies and guidelines which all articles should comport with. As Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, articles must not contain original research, must be written from a neutral point of view, should cite to reliable sources which verify their content and must not contain unsourced, negative content about living people.
Articles must also demonstrate the notability of the subject. Please see our subject specific guidelines for people, bands and musicians, companies and organizations and web content and note that if you are closely associated with the subject, our conflict of interest guideline strongly recommends against you creating the article.
If you still think an article is appropriate, see Help:Starting a new page. You might also look at Wikipedia:Your first article and Wikipedia:How to write a great article for guidance, and please consider taking a tour through the Wikipedia:Tutorial so that you know how to properly format the article before creation. Ah, sorry, the links above are to English Wikipedia, so they don't work here :( Trafford09 (discusión) 07:29 18 may 2009 (UTC)[responder]

Hi again. I've tried an initial translation, firstly using Google auto-translation. Results are in my sub-page here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Trafford09/Juan_Sabater-Tobella . What do you think of it? Please can you improve it? I have to warn you that if we add it as an English Wikipedia article, I expect there may be some opposition. Other editors may suggest it reads too much like a CV, or advert even. It also needs more citations, to verify the facts it contains. But we can try adding it, and see what happens?

By the way, take a look at this: http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=juan+Sabater-Tobella+wikipedia&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&client=firefox-a It's a Google search I did, with the search key(s) "juan Sabater-Tobella wikipedia". It found your article straightaway! Trafford09 (discusión) 09:23 18 may 2009 (UTC)[responder]

You could talk to me also on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Trafford09 .

Hi Trafford09, i am not sure you will read this message. The translation looks quite good, thanks I do not understand quite what you need me to add to the page, not to make it look so much as a CV... (the cv has 89 pages...) this is only a summary of what he has done... I will work on this next week, but would like to know what you mean...

Google hits[editar]

Hi Anushka. I asked a more experienced editor about your Google question - see below.

Hiya. A Spanish user enquired about the speed at which search engines like Google pick up new articles. Is it usually anything up to a day before they refresh thie indexes, would you say? Is there an answer to such a question anywhere on WP? I couldn't find one. Would you imagine the Spanish Wikipedia has the same Google responsiveness as its EN counterpart? Matta, Trafford09 (talk) 09:44, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

The Google engine indexes pages periodically with a web crawler, and uses PageRank to assess the importance of each link. Wikipedia, like other web sites, has no direct control over this procedure and how long it takes. Many sites do attempt search engine optimization, but with limited success.
Typically, in my experience, new articles appear in Google within a few days of creation, but the timeframe is variable and beyond our control.
I have no specific information about the Spanish edition of Google, but I see no reason why things would work any differently.
Further information may be available from Webmaster Help, the forums of which are also available en Español.
