Pete Rock (nacido como Peter O. Phillips, Junio 21, 1970 en (Mount Vernon, New York) es un influyente Productor y MC del panorama actual del Hip-Hop. Comenzó a principio de los 90,formando parte del legendario grupo Pete Rock & CL Smooth.Tras 5 años como grupo se separaron,Pete Rock continuo en solitario lanzando con discos como Soul Survivor 1 y 2,y también produciendo a diversos artistas como Ed O.G.,Rakim o Freddie Foxxx entre otros. Es considerado como el segundo mejor productor de la historia del Hip-Hop por detrás de DJ Premier (Primo) y por delante de Dr. Dre.​
