01978 1978 Ismail Mohamedally Kanga ISMAIL MOHAMEDALLY KANGA (b. 1918), a lawyer since 1941, was appointed Honorary Consul for Ethiopia in the year 1956. He has been a member of the General Council of the Anjuman-i-Islam for the last 10 years and is also associated with many other educational and charitable institutes. Vice-President of the Indo-Arab Society, he became Consul General for Ethiopia in December 1964 and was awarded the Most Distinguished Order of the Star of Ethiopia, with the rank of Commander, by the Emperor of Ethiopia in November 1965. 1978: He succeeded Mr. Bansi Dhar Goswami. 1981: Mr. S. K. Uppal, Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, was aopointed Ambassador to the People's Democratic Republic of Yemen.
