Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll (nació el 11 Septiembre, 1991), comunmente conocido por su nombre artístico como Kygo, es un DJ nacido en Noruega el cual cuenta con diferentes premios como productor. Es conocido en el medio artístico por su remix en la canción "I See Fire" de Ed Sheeran, which has been played 26.5 million times on Soundcloud and around 40 million times on YouTube.[2][3] The remix entered Romania's Top 40 and has remained there for 14 weeks, peaking at number two as of 3 June 2014.[4] Kygo has accumulated over 100 million views on his music on Soundcloud and YouTube. After a break-through in 2014, he was asked by Coldplay vocalist Chris Martin to create a remix for the song "Midnight".[5][6]

On December 1, 2014, he released his first single "Firestone", featuring vocals from Conrad (mononym for Conrad Sewell). On March 15, 2015, he released his second single, titled "Stole the Show".[7]

Early life and career[editar]

Kygo started to learn to play the piano at age six through lessons.[8] He decided to have a go at remixes and creating electronic music after discovering Avicii at age 15-16. After receiving over 80 million views on YouTube and Soundcloud, Kygo was contacted by both Avicii and Chris Martin of Coldplay to create official remixes of one of the artists' songs. He has also warmed up for Avicii at Findings Festival in Oslo, Norway, in 2014.[5] On 19 September 2014, it was confirmed that Kygo was to replace Avicii at mainstage in TomorrowWorld, due to Avicii's health concerns.[9]

Kygo is also set to play various events in North America, and some of the shows have already been sold out. He also got a feature interview in the official Billboard magazine, where he talked about his remixes for Diplo and Coldplay, and talked about his upcoming tour in North America.[10]

In July 2014, Kygo partnered with EDM lifestyle brand Electric Family to produce a collaboration bracelet for which 100% of the proceeds are donated to breast cancer awareness. In that same month, he scored a huge record label deal with Sony International and Ultra Records.[11] In February 2015, his new song "Stole The Show" was featured in the official trailer for Ultra Music Festival and is #14 in the Hot 100 [12]
