Betwixt mine eye and heart a league is took, And each doth good turns now unto the other: When that mine eye is famish'd for a look, Or heart in love with sighs himself doth smother, With my love's picture then my eye doth feast, And to the painted banquet bids my heart; Another time mine eye is my heart's guest, And in his thoughts of love doth share a part: So, either by thy picture or my love, Thy self away, art present still with me; For thou not farther than my thoughts canst move, And I am still with them, and they with thee; Or, if they sleep, thy picture in my sight Awakes my heart, to heart's and eyes' delight.

El Soneto 47 es uno de los 154 sonetos escritos por el dramaturgo y poeta inglés William Shakespeare.

Traducción

Mi corazón ha hecho un pacto con mi ojo
y en buena lid, se prestan, recíprocas ayudas.
Si mi ojo está hambriento, por ver como le miras,
o el corazón prendido, se ahoga en mil suspiros.

Entonces goza el ojo, la imagen de mi amor,
y al corazón invita al irreal banquete.
Otras es invitado, mi ojo del corazón
y en esos pensamientos, logra parte de amor.

Así, ya por tu imagen o sea por mi amor,
aún estando tú lejos, estás presente en mí,
pues no puedes llegar, donde yo, si te nombro
y estoy siempre con ellos y ellos están conmigo.

O si duermen, tu imagen, a mi vista despierta,
llamando al corazón, para que ambos se gocen.​
