Recibió la Legión de Honor por el Gobierno de Francia.[3]
Entre las figuras destacadas que fueron alumnos suyos se encuentran Sean O'Faolain[3] y la catedrática de Francés, también de la UCC, Kathleen O'Flaherty.[3]
