“…the Bishop's Palace, a grand old historic building, with its secret entrances and exits and blood spattered walls, to which the guide points with horror depicted on his face, though on close examination the spots look strangely like splotches of red paint. The walls had thousands of names carved on their dingy surfaces—names of people from every land—some carved many, many years ago. It is a long steep ascent from the car line to the top of the hill, but this climb is made on burros, which may be hired at the foot of the mountain.”
