Resumen

Descripción
English: During the 1860s, the Peace Democrats (aka "Copperheads") were a faction of Democrats in the Union who opposed the American Civil War and wanted an immediate peace settlement with the Confederates. They used a badge made by cutting the Liberty head out of a copper cent coin, a pun on the name "Copperheads" which was given to them by detractors.
