English: HMS Cornwall's 20mm close range gun opens up with tracer ammunition during a night firing exercise.
The Type 22 frigate conducted night firings with it’s 20mm canons against a floating target. The firings were to keep the guns crews current in the operation and firing of the weapon system.
HMS Cornwall was the Command Platform for the Combined Task Force 151 (CTF151 being the counter-piracy mission of Combined Maritime Forces, a 25 nation coalition committed to maritime security throughout the Middle East).
