Hello Casisgaal,
Sorry. I was trying to create a Wiki entry in English for Eileen Whitley, using what I thought was a built in Wikipedia translation tool that would make that task quicker. Something went wrong - very frustrating after spending some time polishing the translation. I'm sorry for the trouble I've caused you. I need to reread the instructions on how to create a translation of an existing Wikipedia page. No need for the threatening tone. Ljdowning (discusión) 19:06 9 mar 2024 (UTC)[responder]
Hello Casisgaal,
Now I am really confused. I see why you accuse me of vandalism. I just now tried to look at Eileen Whitley's Spanish Wikipedia entry again, hoping to find another way to translate it into English. The page has disappeared! From my side, what happened is that I tried to use Wikipedia's machine translation tool to make a draft English translation. I did a lot of polishing on the translation and then clicked the publish button. I then polished again, but when I tried to save this version, I got some kind of error message and then, instead of viewing my translation, I was viewing the original Spanish page. I was frustrated, thinking all my time had been wasted, so I quit that page, which contained the Spanish version I was trying to translate. I don't understand how the entire content of the page could have been deleted. Aren't all past versions automatically saved. Again, I really apologize. The Spanish page was so well written, by someone who clearly admired Eileen Whitley. I hope it can be retrieved. Ljdowning (discusión) 19:26 9 mar 2024 (UTC)[responder]
