Superior Industrial Supply

Superior Industrial Supply is a small family owned company. It sells a broad range of cleaning supplies and paper products. There is only one store and it is located in the suburbs of Chicago: 7300 Oak Park Avenue, Niles. There are 10 operations and 20 sales people working on hand. They also supply 1000 other companies and businesses, including Pump It Up and Henking Elementary School. There has been a loyal base of 700 of those customers who have been receiving business since the very beginning when the company first opened. Not only are these other companies their customers, but they are also their friends and have developed a strong relationship with many of them which is why they are so loyal and trusting.

History

This family owned business was created by Bernie Garman​ in 1964. The business has always sold the same things and has always had a very loyal base of customers. Originally it was located in Highland Park but then moved to Niles in 1998.

Mitchell Garman​, Bernie's son, has been in the business since he was a child. He started working there to help out while he was only 10 years old. Soon, Mitchell will become the new owner of the business.

Superior Industrial Supply in the World

This company was thriving in the early 2000's, but soon it started losing new customers and only runs on the loyal customers now. With the internet and Costco, it has made it hard for this small business to gain new customers and compete against others. Superior runs on the motto, "our mission is to define the “Industrial Supply Industry” through superior customer service, innovation while fostering creativity and flexibility."​ There vision is "having the conventional wisdom, honesty and integrity coupled with our never ending search for becoming better in our industry, in our community and globally – We seek to live up to our name – Superior!"​ They are known by all their customers that they have the best customer service and that is why they have always been one step ahead of their other competitors. The moral and values Superior follows in the business world should really be a good example for other small businesses to follow because it is why they are so successful.
