Question in English[editar]

Hello! I’m a user of the English Wikipedia and I have a question which I hope someone can answer in English, since my Spanish is all but non-existent. The English Wikipedia’s article on Don Íñigo has his birth year as 1476 per English-language sources, which fits better both with his siblings’ births and with his date of ordination as given in this article of 1506. (It was possible for men of the time to be ordained before 25 if a dispensation was obtained from the Pope, but this generally only happened in the case of the younger sons of kings; even boys made cardinal as children weren’t ordained until they reached adulthood.) He is also said in letters of the time to have been an “elderly man” at the time of his embassy to England in the 1520s, which would make no sense if he was born in 1489 but would have been unremarkable had he been born in 1476. What are the sources for this 1489 birthdate? Has someone mistaken him for a nephew, or is this just another oddity we have to reconcile? Thank you! --24.76.103.169 (discusión) 21:20 23 mar 2018 (UTC)[responder]

Hi there!. I think the date should not be modified for now, because it is very confusing to clarify it. Even in English-language Wikipedia is under discussion at this time without achieving an exact consensus. On the other hand, I consider that the most stable date of his birth is in 1489. Greetings!. ;) -- Psicólogo J☮AN | ¿Conversamos? 22:31 23 mar 2018 (UTC)[responder]
