English: New Jersey Assemblywoman Nancy J. Pinkin, District 18, addresses the audience during a New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs state medals ceremony at the Woodbridge Center in Woodbridge, N.J., April 20, 2017. Medals were presented to veterans and family members from the World War I, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, Operations Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom and Inherent Resolve. This is the first time the award has been presented for an Operation Inherent Resolve veteran. Since 2005, more than 51,857 state awards, to include 32,250 New Jersey Distinguished Service Medals, 4,184 New Jersey Meritorious Service Medals, 810 New Jersey Korean Service Medals, 11,599 New Jersey Vietnam Service Medals and 78 New Jersey POW-MIA Service Medals have been awarded.
