English: The Forth Bridge (Forth Railway Bridge) was built in 1893-1890. The bridge is 1½ miles (2½ km long), and 150 ft (46 m) above the Firth of Forth. The Forth Bridge is one of the small class of structures that are recognized by their outline (Eiffel Tower, Pyramids, etc.) The bridge was conspicuously overdesigned, in the aftermath of the collapse of the Tay Bridge with a train in 1879, with 75 lives lost.
I took this photo from South Queensferry. No prizes for guessing the name of the town at the other end of the bridge.
