Her length is three hundred feet,breadth fifty feet, depth thirty feet. She has two turrets,upon which her armor is eleven inches in thickness. Else-where the thickness is eight inches. Her armament consistsof four nine-inch Armstrong, four four-inch, and eighteenJSTordenfelt guns. Upon her upper deck she carries a greatiron torpedo-boat, and between decks she has several machineswhich shoot forth torpedoes by means of compressed air.Her crew complete numbers four hundred men. There aretwo guns pointing forward in the bow, and two in the sterndirected backward. On either side, at a short distance fromthe bow, are the large turrets which, together with their mas-sive contents, are turned by machinery.
