Gabriel Antonio Pombo (born 11 October 1961 in Montevideo) is a Uruguayan writer and lawyer, who is known for his books, essays and interviews relating to serial murderers, and particularly about the famous case of Jack the Ripper, the mysterious and never discovered murderer of London.​​​​ Gabriel Pombo even wrote a humorous short story fiction, which tells how, during a foggy night a very confused Jack the Ripper mistakenly entered the offices of Scotland Yard believing that was a tavern.​

Profile

He graduated from the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences of the University of Uruguay (Montevideo) in 1988, and thereafter exercised their profession independently.​

Since 2006, he participated as an exhibitor of legal, historical, political and criminological issues, in several radio programs of Uruguay, and particularly during 2007 hearing was a panelist at "The Bridge" in CX 4 Rural Radio.

In early 2008 he published his first book, to which he gave the title "The Monster of London: The Legend of Jack the Ripper" From mid to late 2008, gave a series of talks about Jack the Ripper and the Victorian era, in the Uruguayan cultural center El Ateneo.​​

Sometimes produced feature articles that occupied most of the respective sample, for instance, the June 2009 work entitled "Serial Murderers: Scourge of Humanity”.​

Such contributions were reproduced in various cultural publications, printed on paper or as digital.​ This work eventually became the basis for the creation of his book "Stories of Murderers",​​ at the phenomenon of serial crime and adventures of the dark characters who have acted in this framework.

In 2010, expanded approaches to the Whitechapel murderer case with the book "Jack the Ripper: The Legend Continues".​

Gabriel Antonio Pombo (Montevideo, October 11, 1961) is a Uruguayan writer and lawyer, known for his interviews, books, and essays, referring to criminological issues, and in particular referring to serial killers and the well-known case of Jack the Ripper, the mysterious and never discovered London killer of the nineteenth century.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8]

BIOGRAPHY

He graduated from the School of Law and Social Sciences of the University of the Republic (Montevideo) in 1988, and thereafter exercised his profession independently.

Since 2006, he participated as an exhibitor of legal, historical, political and criminological issues, in several radio programs in Uruguay, and particularly during 2007 he was a panelist in the audition "El Puente" in CX 4 Rural Radio. [9]

At the beginning of the year 2008 he published his first book, which he gave by title: "The Monster of London: The Legend of Jack the Ripper". [10] [11]

From the middle to the end of 2008, he gave a series of talks about Jack the Ripper and the Victorian era, at the Uruguayan cultural center El Ateneo, in Montevideo, and before the auditorium of the "Arapey Termal" hotel in the Department of Salto. [12]

He was also a columnist of the Uruguayan cultural magazine of monthly dissemination "Dimension Desconocida" (Unknown Dimension), from the end of 2008 to December 2009. The contact of Pombo with this magazine, basically started as a result of a report that was made on it of his first book, in the November 2008 edition. That copy was almost entirely dedicated to the case of Jack the Ripper. Invited from then on to participate, he joined the staff of the publication, going on to take charge of the "police chronicle" section, for which he wrote reports on criminology and famous criminal cases. [32] As a novel aspect, the aforementioned text includes a new chapter dedicated to the analysis of the latest theories about the plausible identity of the mythical murderer of Whitechapel, [33] and likewise, it is also alluded to the macabre case of the Thames murderer, [34] an anonymous and unpunished serial killer, which operated in a similar period. Coinciding with the release of the Uruguayan serial killer Pablo Goncálvez in June 2016, there was a varied and extensive thematic treatment of that fact in Uruguay, [36] including live coverage [37] as well as expert interviews and TV Talk Shows , and since Dr. Gabriel Pombo was an investigator who wrote about this criminal case, [38] he was also called to participate in several of these media treatments.
