Thermococcus hydrothermalis es una especie de arquea hipertermófila. Es estrictamente anaerobia, y sus células poseen forma de coco con diámetro de 0.8 a 2 μm. Su cepa tipo es AL662T.[1] Fue aislado de una fuente hidrotermal en el Dorsal del Pacífico Oriental.[2] Esta especie es notable por su α-glucosidasa, que es capaz de funcionar a una temperatura optimal de 110 °C.[2]
