Dear Финитор, there's a subtle difference between both awards: officially European Film Composer of the Year award (Premio del Cine Europeo al mejor compositor europeo in spanish) was created in 1989.[3]. Previous year, in 1988, Russian composer Yuri Khanin won indeed a Special Jury Award (Premio especial del Jurado) for his music in the film Days of Eclipse, but it not exactly the same award. There wasn't any nomination in 1988 because it was a special prize. It may consider a precedent, but not the first composer who won this award. Best regards. Премия, полученная в 1988 году Compositeur Yuri Khanon (Khanin) явилась прецедентом PRECEDENTE. Compositor Mikis Theodorakis, под впечатлением музыки Les jours d’éclipse выдвинул жюри условие, что он останется членом жюри Premio del Cine Europeo только если в конкурс будет введена номинация Premio del Cine Europeo al mejor compositor europeo. Спустя 4-е года он покинул жюри и премия перестала существовать на 11 лет! Не говоря уже о том, что fur die beste Musik = mejor compositor! И притом не так важно, был это приз специальным или нет. European Film Awards were put into practice first time at november 1988 and it did not have the full set prize. The compositor Mikis Theodorakis (jury member) deeply impressed by film music "Days of eclipse" (Yuri Khanon/Chanin). He got insist one`s way and presented Special Jury Award Jurij Chanin for Best Music 26 nov. 1988. Also Mikis Theodorakis put into yearly list of reward the Award for Best Music. Then Mikis Theodorakis left jury European Film Awards 4 year late, the Award for Best Music was cansel and didn't present during the 11 year.
