Gary Sweet (Melbourne, Victoria; 20 de mayo de 1957) es un actor australiano, conocido por sus interpretaciones en Alexandra's Project, Big Sky, The Battlersm, Bodyline, Police Rescue y en Stingers.
Biografía[editar]
Es hijo del actor Frank Sweet. Asistió a la Universidad de Flinders en Adelaida, donde obtuvo un diploma en la enseñanza en 1979 y uno en casa rural en 1980.
En 2011 fue reconocido como "Miembro del Paseo de la Fama de Australia" por su carrera en cine y televisión.[1]
Sweet se casó por primera vez en 1981 con la actriz australiana Leonore Smith, con quien tuvo dos hijos los actores Frank Sweet y Sophie Sweet; más tarde la pareja se separó en 1983.[2] Posteriormente, en 1987, se casó con la abogada Jill Miller, sin embargo la pareja se separó. Más tarde en 1995 se casó con la ex-nadadora y actual presentadora de televisión Johanna Griggs, con quien tuvo dos hijos, Jesse James y Joe Buster; pero en diciembre de 1998 anunció su separación y finalmente la pareja se divorció al año siguiente.
Actualmente sale con Nadia Dyall.[3]
Carrera[editar]
En 1995 apareció en la película Blue Murder donde interpretó a Christopher Dale Flannery.
En 2000 se unió al elenco principal de la serie policíaca Stingers donde interpretó al detective inspector Luke Harris hasta el final de la serie en 2004.
En 2006 participó en la quinta temporada del concurso de baile Dancing with the Stars junto a su compañera la bailarina Eliza Campagna, la pareja quedó en cuarto lugar.
En 2010 se unió al elenco de la nueva serie australiana Cops: L.A.C. en donde interpretó al Oficial de Policía y Superintendente del equipo Jack Finch.[4] En noviembre del mismo año y después de una temporada la serie fue cancelada por la cadena Nine debido a la baja audiencia.[5]
También interpretó al Sargento Elmo Haney en la exitosa miniserie de Steven Spielberg, The Pacific.
Ese mismo año interpretó al prudente y protector Drinian, el capitán del barco Dawn Treader y mejor amigo del rey Caspian en la tercera película de Narnia, Las crónicas de Narnia: la travesía del Viajero del Alba.
En 2012 se unió al elenco principal de la serie House Husbands donde interpreta a Lewis Crabb, quien se queda en casa cuidando de su hija mientras su esposa la doctora Gemma Crabb (Julia Morris) va a trabajar al hospital.[6]
