TheLockheed Corporation, originally known asLoughead Aircraft Manufacturing Company was an aerospace company  American founded in 1912 and in 1995 merged with Martin Marietta to form Lockheed Martin.
== Origins ==
Introduced into the world of aviation in the year 1910, siblings  Allan and Malcolm Loughead founded in 1912 the company'Loughead Aircraft Manufacturing Company' based on  Santa Barbara (California, United States). Years later the company began having financial difficulties forced it to close to 1921. Five years later, in 1926, founded the company again, this time with the nameLockheed Aircraft Company, a name that remained until 1995, when the company merged with Martin Marietta, leading to Lockheed Martin.
