Le corindon (α-Al2O3) a une structure rhomboédrique (groupe d'espace \mathrm{R\bar{3}c} n° 167, notation Strukturbericht D51), dont les paramètres de maille sont

  • a = 5,128 Å ;
  • α = 55,47 °.

Le motif est composé de deux groupements hexaédriques dont la hauteur fait 2,73 Å. Les plan de symétrie de ces hexaèdres sont séparés d'une distance de 7,21 Å.

The corundum (α-Al2O3) has a rhombohedral structure (space group \mathrm{R\bar{3}c} nr. 167, Strukturbericht notation D51), which cell parameters are:

  • a = 5.128 Å ;
  • α = 55.47 °.

The motto is made of two hexaheral groups which height is 2.73 Å. The symetry planes of the groups are 7.21 Å away.
