Haplogrupo L3 (ADNmt)

El Haplogrupo L3 es un haplogrupo mitocondrial humano que se encuentra muy extendido por todo África, conformando allí más de un cuarto de la población y es típico entre los bantúes.
Se cree que se originó en África Oriental[1] donde es variado y mayoritario, hace unos 80.000 años.
Sus haplogrupos descendientes conforman una enorme población desperdigada en todos los continentes. Estos haplogrupos descendientes incluyen los macrohaplogrupos M*, N* y R* (y sus derivados).
L3 representa la migración inicial de los humanos modernos afuera de África.[2] Es el haplogrupo ancestral de todos los haplogrupos de Eurasia, Oceanía y América.[3]
