Diss song

En el género del hip hop, una 'diss song' es una canción creada con el único propósito de asaltar verbalmente e insultar a una persona o a un grupo de gente. Las diss songs son la mayoría de las veces producto de rivalidades y disputas entre dos o más artistas de rap (como por ejemplo 2pac y Notorious B.I.G., Eazy E y Dr. Dre Jay-Z y Nas, Ja Rule y 50 Cent,DMX y Tha Dogg Pound, The LOX y G Unit, Ja Rule y DMX.). Uno de los ejemplos de este particular tipo de canción es "The Bridge is Over" de Boogie Down Productions.
En algunos casos, la diss song sirve para parodiar otra canción. Un ejemplo de esto es "No Pigeons" de Sporty Thievz, que parodia el éxito de TLC "No Scrubs".
